'Tis the Season...to wish each of you a wonderful holiday and prosperous New Year. We at SIG are excited about 2013 and everything “new” that it brings—from new programs and offerings to new speakers and topics to a new website coming soon! We also recognize that the great gifts of this season, or any season aren’t the ones under the tree, nor the ones you wear or eat. We spend so much time and energy on the lesser gifts of life and so little on the great gifts, the gifts of understanding, peace, knowledge, forgiveness and friendship. As an organization with members that span the globe, we hope SIG brings to you some of these great gifts. By being a SIG member it is our wish to assist in making your professional life a little easier; to help create long lasting relationships; and to bring people together to further understand new perspectives and build bridges that narrow gaps.
The new year is going to be a wonderful one for SIG and all of our amazing members. As the year progresses we will be launching a brand new website that will ultimately provide a platform for interactive social networking, problem solving and brainstorming on issues and ideas. As the site is developed and enhanced throughout 2013, you will see new capabilities, including an enhanced search engine, news links and more. The new site will not only be more user-friendly, but it will also provide you access to relevant issues. Our home page will feature content from the SRC and will be updated regularly on those things that are top-of-mind for professionals in our space. We can’t wait to launch it at the end of the first quarter and showcase our work, but more importantly, your thought leadership.
Our new Symposium program is already in full swing with our first one launching in Minneapolis on January 17th. When we say “Symposium,” please think “Mini-Summit.” These one-day events are packed with buy-side executive presentations, industry benchmarking, panel discussions, peer-to-peer buy-side brainstorming and networking opportunities, and allow limited provider participation. The select providers that are in attendance will share thought leadership in sessions, and provide an opportunity for you to learn more about their capabilities if you wish, in the Learning Center and Networking Reception. This spring we will host additional Symposiums in Sydney and London, and have a line-up next fall that includes San Francisco, Toronto and New York. Like all SIG events, we pride ourselves on thinking through the big things—like the content and amazing speakers—and the little things that make the event hassle-free for you. We hope to see you or your colleagues in one of these cities!
In keeping with the season and as mentioned at the Summit, we have some wonderful "gifts" to pass along to you from some of our provider members. NeoGroup is providing SIG members with benefits worth more than $10,000 each, including a one-year in-depth analysis on two target outsourcing cities—Bangalore and Mexico City—plus three licenses to a web-based Global Supply Risk Monitor (GSRM) tool and a 20% discount on subscriptions for any additional country, city or supplier targets desired.MBO Enterprise Solutions is providing SIG members with a 50% discount on Athena, a survey tool for locating, quantifying and categorizing your non-employee workforce. Denali Intelligence is offering the gift of two Market Intelligence Report Subscriptions (MIRs), a benefit to members of $8,000. Join the conversation and let Denali know which reports would be most beneficial to you. And finally, ISG will provide our buy-side SIG members with access to premium research content through their Research & Insights portal, a value worth $6,000. In the meantime, from SIG to you and from my family to yours, we hope you have a joyous December.
