After four years of being asked to bring SIG back down under, we finally answered the call. A few weeks ago, we had an amazing two-day Regional Roundtable in Sydney, Australia with about 40 people. We had 3 fantastic sponsors; 12 insightful presentations, case studies and panel discussions; 2 days of thought leadership; multiple networking opportunities; and incredible idea sharing. My only regret is that we didn’t get to Sydney sooner! Based on the great feedback we received from that event and our earlier Regional in London, SIG now has plans to expand our international footprint further by adding two-day Regionals in Singapore, London, Melbourne and Latin America next year, in addition to 10-12 North American Regionals and 3 Innovation Forums. When our members ask, we listen…and we are excited to deliver.
Several months ago, we laid the groundwork for even more changes at the request of our members and partners. At the upcoming SIG Summit in Seattle , we will host the newly-formed Nearshore Executive Alliance first official Board Meeting and half-day forum, which is open to all people interested in learning more about nearshore countries and opportunities. In addition, we are hosting the HfS 25 Sourcing Executive Council, a forum for outsourcing buy-side executives from F500 and G500 companies that seeks to create “next practices” in outsourcing and influence the entire industry. Another thing to notice at our next Summit is that we’re putting more “globe” in “global.” In addition to the Outsourcing Dating Game, where we will highlight several hot regions for outsourcing, we will also have 15 delegates representing the Changsha Region of China joining us, including the Trade Ambassador to China and Mayor of Changsha.
With the pace of change and innovation in our lives, we all truly have to innovate or die. Our SIG members embrace this concept and challenge the SIG team to stay ahead of the curve in order to continue to bring you amazing content and opportunities. The agenda at our upcoming Summit is proof of that. With less than 4 weeks to go, we are gearing up for the best Summit ever. Since I am a numbers person, I love looking at stats. I thought you might appreciate the following as well, which is based on registration numbers as of last week:
170% more people registered for this Summit than the last one at this point
35% Woman, 65% Men
65% Buy-side, 35% Sell-side
72% Director Level or above (including many C-levels, VPs and Managing Directors)
151 First time attendees
42 Buy-side companies attending a SIG Summit for the first time
We hope you’ve registered to join us and made your hotel reservations! When packing, make sure to bring a stack of business cards for networking…and come with plenty of energy and stamina. The Summit is an incredible opportunity for you to make worldwide connections, and gather insights globally that you can implement locally.
