March is supposed to roar in like a lion and out like a lamb, but at Sourcing Interests Group it is quite the opposite. We are kicking off the month with our heads down, busily planning an amazing Global Sourcing Summit in Savannah, Georgia…and we will roar out of March with a fantastic three days of networking and best practice sharing.
I hope the majority of our members will be in attendance at the Summit—it is the single best opportunity we provide for networking with colleagues, sharing best practices and getting the latest in thought leadership. We look forward to welcoming back old friends and colleagues, and are pleased to welcome many new members who will be attending the Summit for their first time as well. Our featured speakers include Dean Edwards, Chief Procurement Officer and VP at Kaiser Permanente, Bob Calderoni, Ariba’s Chairman and CEO, and Raymond Torto, Global Chief Economist for CB Richard Ellis. We will also have a special guest appearance by Ron White, the 2009 USA National Memory Champion. Ron will be sharing his methodology for improving name and fact recollection. Ron has appeared on everything from Good Morning America to CBS Nightly News to the BBC Network and is famous for his memory techniques, which are useful tools in our everyday work lives!
Please come to the Summit ready to share your experiences and stimulate your mind. The Summit agenda is posted on our website and it is being updated daily with session overviews. We will conclude our time together with a low country shrimp boil at Fort Jackson, a short riverboat ride up the Savannah River. Make your travel plans to ensure you can get the most out of the Summit by staying through the Thursday night event.
Safe travels. I’ll see y’all in Savannah in a couple of weeks!
